The unexpected expat blogger behind Golden Orbit Trail

Hello, I am Olivia
I work as a project manager and am a parent. An expat living in Seattle, United States.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the plans for the long run. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Golden Orbit Trail
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a straightforward, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in United States.
What this site covers (and what it doesn't)
This Site Represents:
- Practical experience from our life in United States
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever there are meaningful changes
This Site Isn’t:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review site
- A generic travel diary
Looking Forward
Our stay in United States continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Seattle or anywhere in United States, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Olivia
